기후부, 서남권 신규 반도체 산단에 하루 65만 톤 용수 공급

[사건의내막 / 박연파 기자] = 기후에너지환경부가 서남권 신규 반도체 산업단지에 하루 65만 톤의 용수를 공급할 방침이다.

 

기후부는 30일 동복댐 현장을 방문해 동복댐 운영 현황과 활용 방안을 점검하고 서남권 반도체 산단에 안정적으로 용수를 공급하기 위한 세부 방안을 이같이 발표했다.

 

우선, 동복댐에서 하루 30만 톤의 가용 수자원을 확보한다. 기존 여유량 8만 8000톤 중 5만 톤을 활용하고 댐 증고를 통해 25만 톤을 추가로 확보한다.

 

주암댐의 생공용수 계획량 중 하루에 과다하게 배분돼 미사용되고 있는 7만 톤 중 5만 톤과 장흥댐의 여유량 11만 9000톤 중 10만 톤을 활용한다.

보성강댐에서 발전용수로 활용하고 있는 용수 중 10만 톤도 공업용수 용도로 전환해 공급한다.

 

나주댐은 기존에 농업용수를 공급하던 영산강 하류 말단 지역에 더욱 가까운 영산강 용수를 대체 공급하고 절약되는 댐 용수 21만 톤은 공업용수로 공급한다.

 

이와 함께 광주제1하수처리장의 하수재이용수를 역삼투막 처리를 거쳐 일반 공업용수로 하루에 활용할 수 있는 30만 톤을 확보한다.

 

기후부는 가용 수자원 중 동복댐 30만 톤, 주암댐 및 장흥댐 여유량 15만 톤, 보성강댐 10만 톤과 나주댐 10만 톤으로 일일 65만 톤의 용수를 안정적으로 공급할 예정이다.

 

용수 공급 세부 방식과 일정은 해당 기업과 긴밀히 협의해 세부 추진 방안을 마련할 계획이다.

 

김성환 장관은 "이번 서남권 신규 반도체 산단에 적기 용수 공급을 통해 대한민국이 대도약으로 전환하는 핵심 전략인 메가프로젝트를 차질 없이 이행해 나갈 것"이라고 설명했다.
