김 총리는 "산업안전보건규칙을 개정하기 전에라도 '2시간 노동하면 20분 휴식하는 원칙'이 실제 현장에서 실천될 수 있도록 해야 하겠다"며 "개정 전이기 때문에 산업계와 소통하고 자율적인 참여를 유도하는 모든 노력을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.
아울러 김 총리는 전력 수급 대응과 관련, "올해는 경우에 따라서 역대 최대수요가 있을 수도 있다는 예상도 있고, 정부가 대형 설비 고장 등 어떤 상황이 오더라도 안정적인 전력 수급이 가능하도록 대비를 하겠다"며 "오늘부터 두 달간 전력 수급 대책 기간으로 정해서, 예비 자원도 확보하고 종합상황실을 운영하겠다"고 말했다.
