[사건의내막 / 문홍철 기자] =한미 양국의 디지털·바이오헬스 분야 기업 간 협력을 위해 열린 포럼에서 6700억 원 이상의 경제 효과를 창출하게 될 총 10건의 계약이 체결됐다.

 

보건복지부와 한국보건산업진흥원은 27일(현지시간) 미국 보스턴에서 한미 양국 기업이 함께 참여하는 한미 디지털·바이오헬스 비즈니스 포럼을 개최, 이같은 성과를 거뒀다고 28일 밝혔다.

 

이번 비즈니스 포럼은 윤석열 대통령의 국빈 방문을 계기로 70주년을 맞이한 한미 동맹이 군사·경제 분야를 넘어 기술 동맹으로 격상되는 만큼, 양국 디지털·바이오헬스 분야 기업 간 협력을 강화하기 위해 열렸다.

 

이날 행사에서는 글로벌 시장 진출을 위해 국내 기업에게 미국 보스턴 현지 거점을 지원하는 ‘K-블록버스터 미국 진출 지원사업’의 성과와 향후 기업 진출전략 논의가 이뤄졌다.

 

이번 포럼에는 임인택 복지부 보건의료정책실장, 차순도 한국보건산업진흥원 원장을 비롯해 ‘케임브리지 이노베이션 센터’(이하 CIC) 내 C&D 인큐베이션 오피스에 입주하는 국내 기업 20곳뿐 아니라 계약 및 MOU를 체결하는 한미 양국 기업·기관 19곳, 현지 진출 기업 및 전문가 등 총 100여 명이 참석했다.

포럼 1부에선 CIC 내 C&D 인큐베이션 오피스에 입주하는 국내 기업들에 대한 입주기념식과 고종성 제노스코사 대표의 사례 발표가 진행됐다.

 

이어 참석기업 중 유한USA, 휴온스USA, 동아ST, 대웅제약, 카카오헬스케어, 지엠에스헬스케어 등 대표 기업 6곳이 미국 진출 전략과 성과를 발표했다.

 

2부에서는 대웅제약의 6353억 원 규모 신약 후보물질 기술 수출 계약 성과를 비롯해 한미 기업 간의 디지털 헬스케어, 제약바이오, 의료기기 분야 MOU 등 9건까지 총 10건의 체결식이 이어졌다.

 

이번 계약 등으로 6700억 원 이상의 경제적 효과를 달성, 장기적으로는 상당한 경제적 효과가 기대된다고 복지부는 설명했다.

 

임인택 복지부 보건의료정책실장은 “정부는 지난 2월 28일 발표한 ‘바이오헬스 신시장 창출 전략’을 충실히 추진해 나가며 우리 기업의 성공적인 미국 진출을 지원하기 위한 노력을 이어 나가겠다”고 말했다.

 

차순도 한국보건산업진흥원장은 “오늘 이 자리에서 체결되는 한국과 미국 우수기업의 수출 계약 및 MOU 등 협력 성과가 계속 이어지도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 전했다.

Six representative companies, including Yuhan USA, Huons USA, Dong-A ST, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Kakao Healthcare, and GMS Healthcare, among the participating companies, presented their strategies and achievements for entering the US market.

 

In the second part, a total of 10 signing ceremonies were held, including Daewoong Pharmaceutical's 635.3 billion won technology export contract for new drug candidates, and 9 MOUs between Korean and American companies in digital healthcare, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices.

 

The Ministry of Health and Welfare explained that this contract and other measures achieved an economic effect of more than 670 billion won, and significant economic effects are expected in the long run.
