[사건의내막 / 문홍철 기자] = 신영대 더불어민주당 대변인은 22일 오전 현안 서면 브리핑에서 “공수처 설치를 더 이상 미룰 수 없다”고 밝혔다.

신영대 대변인은 “김봉현 전 스타모빌리티 회장이 언론을 통해 추가 폭로를 했다”면서 “검찰이 도피를 도왔고, 현직 검사 로비가 사실임을 재차 언급했다”라며 “과거 수원여객 사건 당시 수원지검장에 대한 영장발부 기각 청탁이 있었고, 실제로 한동안 영장발부가 안 된 게 사실이라고 밝혔다”고 덧붙였다.

신 대변인은 “야당 정치인 관련해서는 실제 로비가 이루어졌음을 직접 들었고, 움직임을 직접 보았다고 진술했음에도 불구하고 조사가 전혀 이루어지지 않았다고 한다”면서 “반면 여당 정치인들은 라임펀드와 아무런 관련이 없다고 수차례 얘길 했음에도 6개월간에 걸쳐서 수사가 진행됐다고 폭로했다”고 전했다.

또한 신 대변인은 “김봉현 전 회장의 자필편지는 매우 충격적이다”면서 “사실이라면 통제받지 않는 무소불위 힘을 가진 검찰 권력의 문제를 그대로 보여주는 것”이라면서 “공정과 정의로 법을 집행해야 할 검찰이 금품수수와 향응, 정치공작, 편파수사 등으로 국민의 신뢰를 저버리고 있는 것”이라고 꼬집고 나섰다.

특히 신 대변인은 “검찰은 철저하고 신속한 수사를 진행해야 할 것”이라며 “일부 정치검사의 표적수사, 기획수사, 편파수사 등에 대해 진상규명하고 단호히 처벌해야 할 것”이라고 강조했다.

신영대 대변인은 “검찰의 명예를 회복하기 위해서라도 검찰 개혁은 하루빨리 이루어져야한다”면서 “공수처 출범은 검찰 개혁의 출발일 것”이라며 “그렇기에 공수처 설치를 더 이상 미룰 수 없다”며 “국민의힘이 특검을 주장하며 시간끌기만 지속한다면, 검찰의 정치공작과 기획수사를 용인하겠다는 것으로 밖에 볼 수 없다”고 비판의 목소리를 높였다.

신 대변인은 “정치적 이해관계를 떠나 이 땅에 공정과 정의를 바로 세우기 위해 공수처 설치를 더 이상 미룰 수 없다”고 밝혔다.
